0%

The questionnaire generally takes 15 minutes to complete; however, recreational fishers who participate in a wide range of recreational fishing types may require > 15 minutes.

Why are we doing this survey and how will your response be used?

Purpose: This survey aims to build a clearer picture of the current state of recreational fishing in Jersey. It will gather information on overall activity, what species are being caught (catch composition), how many fish are caught, and where recreational fishing takes place (spatial distribution), as well as the social and economic value of this sector.

Use of your data: The findings will be used to support marine management in Jersey that better reflects and incorporates recreational sea fishers in Jersey. The results will be brought together in a report, providing clear evidence of the scale and value of recreational fishing, including its cultural and economic value.

Confidentiality: All responses will be treated confidentially. Individual responses will not be reported, and no data will be presented in a way that identifies individual fisher responses.

By completing this questionnaire (digital or paper), you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and consent to participate in this survey. You acknowledge that your responses will be used in a recreational fishing report; however, your name and individual responses to questions will not be published or used in a way that could identify you. Also please DO NOT include any personal information in any of the open text fields.

PLEASE READ: All questions relate only to your activities within Jersey’s territorial waters. If you prefer not to answer certain questions, you may leave them blank; however, please still submit the questionnaire, as every response provides valuable information. While the survey can be completed on a smartphone, we recommend using a tablet or computer for a quicker and smoother experience.
