“Right sizing” is a housing policy where the Government helps people to live in homes that are the right size for their needs. In Jersey, many families are looking for larger homes and at the same time statistics suggest that many people live in homes that are bigger than their current needs.
The Minister for Housing and Communities has made a commitment in his
Creating Better Homes: Action Plan for Housing in Jersey to develop a “right-sizing” policy for Jersey to help support homeowners who wish to move to a smaller, more suitable property but would like some help to do so. This will increase the supply of larger homes for families.
Please use this survey to help the Minister design a scheme that suits the needs of Jersey homeowners. The survey is aimed at homeowners who might want to move to a smaller property at some point – this is often called “downsizing ”. If you do not own a home or are a homeowner but are not thinking about downsizing, we are still keen to hear from you and you can use the survey to provide your comments.
